People of all ages were called to experience being a Christian in ancient Rome! We visited the shops of a Roman marketplace and shop with coins, tasted Roman delicacies and experienced ancient Roman life. We met people like the apostle Paul and his Roman guard, shop owners, freed slaves and Christians both hidden and in the open. Attendees were able to sneak past Roman guards to go deep into the underground catacombs, showing a daily secret code to worship in the secret church. They tried out for the Roman Olympics and played games that children played in ancient times. All of this and more was part of this summer’s Vacation Bible School.
