• St. Gabriel’s Mission Trip Youth are home safe and sound and have lots of stories and impressions to share with us. Please join them on Sunday August 1st at the 10:00 am service for a presentation of their mission experience. Afterwards the youth will sponsor coffee hour as a thank you for all the support St. Gabriel’s gave the group all year.

  • Summer Adult Forum -  Online, Too:  Starting Aug 1st, 9:10a, Youth Room and 11:30a, Library, we'll have a “step-by-step” walkthrough, for the new Online Forum. Drop-ins are welcome.  "Treasures of Christian Teaching" begins online, Sun., Aug. 22nd, (*note change of date from August 8th). The online group will discuss the same topics, as the face to face group, using a Facebook group.  We’ll spread discussion over several days, and thanks to the internet, people can contribute as much and whenever their schedule allows.  Questions regarding the forum and internet for faith study may be directed to the office, at stgabe@stgabrielonline.org or Connie Brown at cjcbrown@comcast.net.

  •   “1st Friday” Dinner:  Fri., Aug. 6th, 6:30 p., is being hosted by our St. Gabriel’s Cursillo Community.  Please see sign-up sheet on the Narthex Bulletin Board.

  •  Jr. Youth Group Annual Film Project with teacher Sean for our 3-5th graders (who are now 4th-6th graders) will begin on Sunday August 1st at 10:00 am and go until Sunday September 5th. If your child would like to make a film with the group, parents please try to have them attend as many Sundays as possible during that time period, but students are also welcome to participate if they can only come for 1 or 2. Meet in the youth room as usual.

  • How About a Picnic?  Sun., Aug. 8th, 11:30p.  Jennifer and Victor are organizing an after-church trip to a lake in southeast Washington for picnicking, games and fellowship.  Carpool or caravan from St. Gabriel’s.  Reach out and invite your friends and neighbors, too!   • School Supply Drive:  through August 22nd, for the children of the Western Farm Workers in Hillsboro.  Collection basket in the Narthex.

  • New Scrip is in!  We have sold $13,569.00 of scrip to date!  No need to pre-order; just stop by the table to see what’s in stock.   Please note: Fred Meyer and Safeway cards can be used at the grocery gas stations, Ross has been added as a merchant with $25.00 cards available, the scrip office is still working on Kohl’s and other requested vendors.  Large “prepaid” orders are accepted.  Next order will be placed on August 10th.  See you at the Scrip Table!   • St. Benedict’s Guild Annual Retreat:  August 20-22, Friday evening to Sunday after lunch, at Our Lady of Peace Retreat Center in Beaverton.  We are priviledged to have as our conductor, The Rev. Anthony Petrotta, Rector of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Wilsonville. The retreat will include several meditations by Fr. Petrotta, Eucharist services and Noonday and Evening Prayer services and ample personal time.  Reservations must be made by Fri., Aug. 6th.  Please see info on the Narthex Bulletin Board.
